ASPIRE-USA supports Afghan students who embodied democratic ideas in Afghanistan and faced the wrath of the Taliban after the American withdrawal. Our students escaped Taliban persecution and came to the USA legally, but American policy changes have thrown them into limbo - preventing them from working and building a future.
We fill the gaps by meeting our Afghan students’ basic needs and helping them maintain their lawful presence as they progress toward self-sufficient futures as professionals, tradesmen, and leaders in America.

How Scouting In Afghanistan Gave Our Students Passge to the U.S.
For many young Afghan Scouts, their involvement in scouting put them at risk following the Taliban’s return to power. Because of their connections to U.S.-affiliated youth organizations, many faced potential danger and were selected for evacuation from Afghanistan.
Today, Afghan Scouts Durham has evolved to become ASPIRE-USA. We continue our commitment to support these students as they pursue their education, build new futures, and carry forward the values of leadership, service, and community they developed through scouting.
